Every year we eat dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse. For the past 3 years, it's been 3 different restaurants. This year we decided to try Miyabi. We made the mistake of not calling ahead to make reservations - we'll never do that again! And then the staff "forgot" our name, so we waited about 40 minutes longer than necessary. Yes, we should have left and gone somewhere else, but by then we would have had a wait anywhere.
While we were waiting Travis entertained us - and probably annoyed the staff (and we don't feel bad about that one!) There were bamboo pipes sticking out of the fountain area. Travis thought it would be fun to make noises into them so they would echo. We got a kick out of it!
Thankfully our server was awesome - it was her first night at work - but she was very attentive to our drinks and brought refills BEFORE we were sucking air. And our cook was hilarious and easy to talk to - he made the evening. So what started out as a crappy dining experience turned into a great one in the end.
