It was either baseball or soccer... and we heard that fall baseball was excellent because numbers were fewer (and we missed the soccer sign-ups). So Brad is on the Orange Team. There are only 2 teams in his age bracket... the other is the Yellow Team. So it can get a little old watching the same 2 teams play at every game, but it's kind of fun to see the vast improvement of both teams throughout the season.
Both Orange and Yellow have excellent coaches. They each had 4 practices before games began. I was a bit nervous about the group of boys on Brad's team... they all seamed so young in the game still. The first game was even more nerve racking because there were a few kids on the Yellow team that could actually field the ball. Yikes!
Well they've all improved by leaps and bounds. In fact, I'd dare say that if you kept score at each game, the Orange team is the likely one on top. The boys have really learned to field the ball and back each other up. And their hitting is awesome. Many of them can hit it in the sweet spot just over the infielders' heads (and I'll brag a bit because Brad is one of them!)
This season has turned out to be a great time to learn and grow in machine-pitch baseball. We still have a month to go... so hopefully we won't freeze our fingers and toes off at the rest of the games.

Orange team? Machine pitch? Not keeping score? What's going on here? Next thing you know they're going to line up the kids after the game to congratulate each other or something!
